The fourth type of modern computer is integrated circuits. Integrated circuits (ICs) are small circuit units that are housed in a package of semiconductor materials. ICs are commonly used in personal computers and other electronic devices to perform a wide range of tasks. Integrated circuits are called microprocessors because they can be considered like small computers.
